Partnering
Partnering Opportunities
Our lead project on the use of megalin antagonists for protection
against aminoglycoside-mediated nephrotoxicity is now available for
partnering. This project will be of particular interest to pharmaceutical
companies with products in the aminoglycoside market.
Research collaborations
Drug-induced nephrotoxicity: ReceptIcon is a major player
in the field of megalin research and its know-how is protected by
a large number of patent applications. Research in this area aims
at 1) the identification of therapeutic drugs other than aminoglycosides
that accumulate in the kidney via this receptor and, 2) in the development
of novel antagonists to block renal uptake and nephrotoxicity of
such compounds. This project will be particularly relevant for companies
commercializing nephrotoxic drugs such as antiinfectiva (e.g., vancomycin,
amphoterizin B), antineoplastic drugs (e.g. cisplatin, ifosfamide),
antisense oligonucleotides, and immunosuppressants (cyclosporine).
Steroid hormone metabolism: ReceptIcon's R&D efforts aim at
the identification of cellular pathways responsible for delivery
of steroid hormones to steroid-dependent tumors of the breast and
prostate, and on the design of antagonists to block such pathways
for anti-tumor therapy.
In both areas, ReceptIcon is open for collaborations with public
and industrial research partners.
Screening service for the pharmaceutical industry
ReceptIcon's IPR-protected screening platform can provide
a cost effective and rapid way to identify compounds whose toxicity
is mediated by megalin. |
