Management
Hans T. Schambye
Hans Schambye joined ReceptIcon in 2006 as Chief Executive
Officer. Dr. Schambye previously served as CEO of Gastrotech
Pharma A/S, a Danish clinical stage biotech company. Before
joining Gastrotech, Dr. Schambye was Director of Biology and
Pharmacology and Head of Portfolio Management at Maxygen, a
US biotech company. In 1999, Dr. Schambye co-founded ProFound
Pharma A/S, a Danish biotech company, which was acquired by
Maxygen in 2000. Previously, Dr. Schambye was a project manager
at Novo Nordisk. Prior to this Dr. Schambye had a successful
research career at Stanford University and Copenhagen University
within the field of receptor biology. Dr. Schambye holds an
MD from Odense University and a PhD in Medical Sciences from
Copenhagen University. |

Anders H. Pedersen, COO
Anders Pedersen joined ReceptIcon in 2006 as Chief Operational Officer. Mr. Pedersen has more than 20 years experience from Biotech. Of these, 13 years are from Novo Nordisk A/S where he served both as research scientist, project manager and department manager. From 1989 -1990 he worked as research associate at University of New Mexico, funded by Novo Nordisk A/S. Mr. Pedersen co-founded ProFound Pharma A/S in 1999 and served as Director of Protein Chemistry and later after the acquisition of ProFound Pharma A/S by Maxygen, he served as Vice President of R&D, Denmark. Prior to joining ReceptIcon Mr. Pedersen has served as Senior Vice President of Project management at the Danish CMO, CMC Biopharmaceuticals A/S and as Vice President of Portfolio Management at Life Cycle Pharma A/S. Mr Pedersen is chemical engineer (1985) from the Danish Engineering Academy, Copenhagen. |

Anders Nykjaer, co-CSO
Anders Nykjaer is a co-founder of ReceptIcon. He received his M.D. from the University of Aarhus in 1991 and graduated in 1995 with a Ph.D. from the Department of Medical Biochemistry, University of Aarhus. A sabbatical in 1996-1998 was spent at the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine, Berlin, with the focus on molecular and physiological aspects of endocytic receptor systems. Currently, Anders Nykjaer holds a position as Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the University of Aarhus, and as co-chairman of the ‘Lundbeck Foundation Research Center MIND’ and coordinator of ‘Danish Center for Genetically Modified Mice’. Among other prizes, in 2000 he was awarded the prestigious Hallas-Moeller research scholarship sponsored by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. |

Thomas
Willnow, co-CSO
Thomas E. Willnow is a co-founder of ReceptIcon. He is a graduate
in Biology from the University of Munich , where he also obtained
his Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1992). He worked as a researcher for
Boehringer Mannheim GmbH and for several academic research institutions
before joining the lab of nobel laureates Joseph Goldstein and
Michael Brown at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for
a postdoctorate (1992-1996). In 1996, he moved to the Max-Delbrück-Center
for Molecular Medicine in Berlin as a junior faculty member.
Since 2000, he has been appointed Full Professor for Molecular Cardiovascular
Research at the Charité, University Hospital in Berlin
and head of a research group at the Max-Delbrück-Center
for Molecular Medicine. He is the coordinator of the national
program on Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases of the German
Ministry of Research and holds positions as lecturer in Biochemistry
at the Humbold-University and scientific advisor to several biotech
companies. |
